Immortal Ibsen (2003)                                      The Quest for Madonna (2004)

Borgen Production A/S was established in October 1999. Since then, the company has made several documentaries on international issues. The main focus is on human rights issues such as ethical trade, HIV/AIDS, water and ethics, peace and reconciliation, globalisation, and war/peace issues. In addition Borgen Production has made a number of documentaries on art and culture. All the documentaries has been shown on national television and several also internationally in countries like Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Israel, Latvia, the USA, South Africa and Botswana. Recently one of the documentaries, "Immortal Ibsen" won the prize as the best documentary about art at an Art Film Festival in Portugal (2003).

In 2004 the Borgen Production documentary "The Quest for Madonna" was shown twice on national television. The documentary is about the missing Madonna painting of world famous Norwegian artist Edvard Munch.

Borgen Production A/S wants to be a part of the international peace movement.

In a public speech Erling Borgen recently said:

"There are two Super Powers in the world today. One of them is the USA, the country that since 1990 has sold weapons worth US $ 4 billion. The USA has taken monopoly on deciding who are terrorists and who are democrats. The USA and Great Britain attacked Irak to make the world a safer place, they said. That was so important that the Super Power didn't care about the world community. Today we know the truth. The USA's offensive war was based on lies and deceit. There is no nicer way to put it. I have, as a foreign correspondent for the NRK, on two of the world's most brutal continents, visited 22 countries that the USA have either invaded, occupied, bombed, militarized or brutalized in other ways. I have seen the consequences of the USA's weapons of mass destruction. I have seen with my own eyes what the USA's chemical weapons, made by Dow Chemical and other American multinationals do to people. I visited a children's hospital in Hanoi in Vietnam. A hospital filled with child victims, without eyes, arms, legs.....victims of the Agent Orange that the USA sprayed on millions of Vietnamese. Let's send the weapons inspectors to the USA.

We live in difficult times. There are 33 ongoing wars in the world today. There are 30 000 nuclear weapons. The most stupid thoughts are often thought by military men.

The situation would be even more terrifying if another Super Power didn't exist. That is the international powerful peace movement. A Super Power that thinks the alternative to war, is NOT to go to war.

There's reason to ask why there always are resources for bombing, destruction, invasions and occupations, but there's no money from the rich and priviliged when it comes to human values and making peace?"
